Barbara grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Washington High School in 1959. She married the love of her life, Earl, on May 18, 1962; settling between Martinsville and Mooresville. Barbara worked as an underwriter in Indianapolis for many years for Hartford and (later at) Indiana Insurance Agencies.
She was a kind, simple and compassionate woman. Never inconveniencing or complaining, Barb always put others before herself. A talented artist, she liked to paint nature and landscape scenes. In addition she enjoyed reading literature and poetry. Always a joy to be around, Barbara was truly blessed with a special, sarcastic wit and great sense of humor.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father, Charles A. Drury; brother, Charles H. Drury; father in law, Roy H. Taylor; mother in laws, Silvia and Anna Taylor; sister in law, June Lewis and brother in law, Murl Taylor.
Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Earl A. Taylor of Martinsville; daughters, Susan Richardson (husband, Jason) and Carrie Holloway (husband, Brad) both of Martinsville, grandchildren, Joseph, Ethan, Emma, Olivia and Samuel Richardson, Maya and Blake Holloway; sister in laws, Pam Taylor of Martinsville, Syletta Rouse of Stilesville and Pam Drury of Sheridan; brother in law, Allen Taylor of Martinsville; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
