Claude was the son of Theordore Grant "Dora" Burtron and Eliza Isabelle Wellman Fletcher Burtron.

Clade V. Burtron of Sheridan died March 24, 2001, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was 92. Born May 27, 1908, in Boswell, he was the son of the late Theordore G. and Eliza I. (Wellman) Burtron.
He married Gladys A. Honeas on November 20, 1930. She survives. He attended Purdue University studying poultry, and was owner of Burtron's Poultry in Noblesville for 17 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Sheridan Church of God. Other survivors include sons Robert J. Burtron of Tipton, Claude V. Burtron Jr., Carl E. Burtron and Thomas C. Burtron all of Sheridan, and Rickie L. Burtron of Lebanon; daughters Mary Lou Pickett of Sheridan, Phyllis A. Litteral of Noblesville, Carolyn S. Biddle of Sheridan, Mable C. Haughey of Sheridan,Isabelle B. Cumins of Shirley, and Sandra K. Spencer, Janet Wallace and Tina M. Stephens, all of Sheridan; sister Donna Lee of Sheridan; 40 grandchildren, six step-granchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-granchildren. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan. Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kercheval, the Rev. Michael Bullick officiating. Burial followed at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan.
