Murder Victim:
The incident happened in Las Flores in a suburb called "Colinas del Neveri" in Barcelona, Anzoátegui in Venezuela on Sunday, October 19th 2008. That morning some neighbors found the body of 24 year-old, Maribel Rosalía Alfonso, lying in the street dead. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots and the brakes of a car speeding away in the early morning hours that day. About 2 hours later she was found lying facedown in the street with blue pants and a white shirt.
It was suspected that she was killed by her jealous boyfriend who was a drug lord. She had been having fun at a nightclub and had taken photos with another man who appeared to be about 40 years old. It is rumored that her drug lord boyfriend became upset by her taking off her blouse and exposing her breasts in one of the photos. Some sandals and one of the photographs of her embracing the man were found around her body. The other photograph was found still clutched in her hand. She had apparently been shot in the back of the head. A 9mm pistol was used in the crime.
No one knows exactly what happened that led to the murder. The police felt that it was a crime of passion by her jealous boyfriend, though according to many of her associates, she sold marijuana and worked as an escort too.
