Rick was born on July 21, 1958 in Denver, Colorado. Like many in his generation he learned to count by starting at 10 and counting backwards, ending with an exuberant, “BLAST OFF!”. He loved the stars, building bottle rockets, was an accomplished Eagle Scout and Regent scholar. Later in life he was a part of many musical groups, loved C.S. Lewis, Tolkien and shows like Star Wars and Star Trek. He was a terrific “big brother” to his brothers Chris and David. He became a Christian at camp and later led his parents, Nancy and Russ, and rest of his family to the Lord. His 2 children, David and Megan, remember their dad as solid in his faith and a loving father. His step-children, Holly and Garry, remember him as kind, happy and loving. He was married to Kathryn in Oct 1997. He was an accomplished engineer and helped with the NASA Orion Mars project. He lived his last 4 years with his wife in beautiful Albuquerque, NM. God gave him great adventures throughout his lifetime but the greatest adventure is just beginning. Rick left all of us a legacy to know God personally and live out our faith.
