OBITUARY

Jonas Peter Lundberg died at his home in Grant Township, Boone County, Iowa, on Wednesday, March 14, 1894, aged 76 years, 3 months and 1 day.

He was a native of Sweden and was married in that country, his first wife dying after he came to this country, in Andover, Ill., leaving one son Carl, and daughter, the latter dying in 1892.

Mr. Lundberg married the second time to Johanna Matilda Price in 1855, by whom he had ten sons and three daughters. The mother, seven sons and three daughters survive him.

He came to America in 1852, settling first in Andover, Ill., afterward removing to Iowa in 1875, settling first in Dayton Township and removed to Grant Township the following year.

He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church and a conscientious christian man.

About the middle of November he began failing and despite all that friends or physicians could do he gradually became worse until the day of his death.

He was laid to rest in the Dayton Cemetery on Sunday, the 18th, his funeral sermon being preached by Rev. Christenson. There was a large congregation present to bid him a last farewell.
