AKRON - Gladys Smith Learish, 89, of Akron, and formerly of Woodland, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at Akron.
Born Aug. 26, 1915, at Juniata, she was a daughter of George E. and Bertha J. Smith.
She was a graduated of Clearfield High School, Class of 1933.
On March 31, 1935, she wed Leonard Cleve Learish, who preceded her in death in September 1980.
She is survived by two children, Terence C. Learish and his wife, Johanna, and Carol Broderick; five grandchildren, John Learish, Dale Learish, Catherine Neely, Robert C. Broderick Jr. and Patrick Broderick; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Copen, Ruth Postgate an Patsy Culp; and three brothers, Merhl Smith, Joseph Smith and Blair Smith.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Learish was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Byron and Robert Smith.
A memorial service was held for the family at Willow Valley.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
