Anthony J. (Sonny) Ragucci, 78, of Eltingville, died Friday in Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton.
Born in Tompkinsville, Mr. Ragucci lived most of his life in Port Richmond and Westerleigh. He moved to Las Vegas in 1992 and to Manchester, N.J., in 2005. He returned to the Island in 2010.
He was the chief of security at the former Willowbrook State School and retired in 1983.
A graduate of McKee High School, Mr. Ragucci served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1948 to 1949, and in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, from 1951 to 1954.
Mr. Ragucci enjoyed spending time in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. He was a loving husband and father, and adored his grandchildren. He was also the last survivor of seven siblings.
