Enlisted in the Woman's Army Corp. February 24, 1944, Minneapolis Minnesota. She enlisted on February 24, 1944, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. However the military has her middle initial as "N" which is incorrect. Service number was A-710307

As per her wishes, she has been cremated. Gussie will be interred with Albert Hamerski on January 27, 2017 with military honors. After almost 50 years, Albert and Gussie are together again.
