Barbara LaVerne Burns, age 70, died in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Thursday, November 24, 2016 after battling cancer. Born June 15, 1946 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Juanita and James Allison (deceased), Barbara graduated in 1964 from Shawnee High School and attended Oklahoma Baptist University. She was a former secretary for The Baptist Temple and was active in Singing Churchwomen of Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband, Roger Burns; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jessica Burns; daughter, Debi Moore; as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Nikki Allison. She was also loved by seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her celebration service will be at The Village Baptist Church in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 10:00am.
