Juanita L. Baker, 75, of Ashland, Ky., died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
Mrs. Baker was born Jan. 5, 1931, in Catlettsburg, Ky., a daughter of the late Estill Myers and Jessie Galloway Johnson.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Baker, in 1985.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are a special person, Ricky Cloninger; three stepsons, Rodney Baker and Kenny Baker, both of Texas, and Greg Baker of North Carolina; a stepdaughter, LaVonda Baker of Georgia; three nieces, Janie Camey of Ashland, Florence Watts of Huntington, W.Va., and Ann Newman of Chesapeake, Ohio; a nephew, Carl McKenzie of Ashland; several stepgrandchildren; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a sister, Ruth McKenzie of Ashland.
A memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. J. Stewart Schneider. Burial will be in Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby, N.C.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 321 W. Main St., Room 322, Suite 390, Louisville, KY 40202.
