OBITUARY: from Muscatine Journal, Muscatine, Iowa; Wednesday 29 November 1911, page 3, West Liberty, IA:

Jonathan Pringey was born in Somerset county, Pa., June 6, 1818, and died at his home in West Liberty, Ia., November 25, 1911, aged 93 years, 5 months and 19 days. In the year 1840 he was united in marriage to Miss Elsie Coburn. To this union were born seven children, three sons and four daughters, four of who survive--Zelma C., of Hamilton, Mont.; Charles S., of Des Moines, Ia.; and Mrs. Dianna Pray, of Anita, Ia., and Mrs. Robert Graham, of Iowa City. After his first wife's death he was again married to Mrs. Blackman, who died a few years later. March 9, 1878, he married Mrs. Annis Jackson, who preceded him in death thirteen years ago. To this union one child was born, Mrs. Clarissa Skinner, who survives. Besides the sons and daughters mentioned, he leaves sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Jonathan Pringey came to the state of Iowa in the pioneer days of 1845 and settled on a farm on South Prairie. Later he moved near Atalissa and continued farming as long as he was able. Ten years ago he moved to West Liberty, which has since been his home. Although not suffering from any disease, he has been confined to his bed for the past two years, but was reconciled to wait his time and bore it patiently and uncomplaining. He passed away as one going to sleep and rest, after a long and tiresome journey. At some time in his earlier life he became a Christian and was a member of the West Liberty congregation. On moving to Atalissa he took his letter and perhaps identified himself with that congregation.

Another version of his obit adds the following:

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the Christian church, Rev. S. J. Epler officiating. Interment was made at Oakridge.
