Cledas A. Albertson (nee Green), 90 of Upper Deerfield Township passed away Sunday afternoon November 6, 2016 after a lengthy illness.

The widow of Josiah H. "Joe" Albertson, who died in 1987, she was the daughter of the late Hobart R. and Pearlie Mae Smith Green. Born in Herndon, WV on March 31, 1926, she had lived at the same Upper Deerfield Township home for 44 years.

She graduated from high school in West Virginia and after two semesters of college moved to southern New Jersey to work at Seabrook Farms. Following a brief period of employment at Seabrook, she took a position at the Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton. Most of her working career was spent as a cashier for Food Fair supermarket in Bridgeton and later at Pantry Pride, both in Bridgeton.

Cledas loved to cook and collect new recipes. In addition, she enjoyed working in her yard and gardening.

She is survived by one daughter, Brenda C. Matsumoto, one granddaughter, Tami-Jo Hutchins, both of Upper Deerfield and one sister, Gladie Kemp of VA. She was predeceased by an eight-month old infant son, Josiah H. Albertson and a sister, Lorene Music.

Private services will be held for member of the family and close friends at the the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St. in Bridgeton and the interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park in Millville.
