Vina M. (Corriveau) [Thompson] Schott passed away at age 72 on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at her home in Eldred, New York. Born in Millinocket, Maine, on October 30, 1944, Vina was a daughter of the late Benjamin J. and Amelia G. (LeBlanc) Corriveau. Raised in Thomaston, Connecticut, she graduated from Thomaston High School (Class of 1963) and then subsequently worked for several area companies, including the Risdon Manufacturing Company and Commercial Sewing. Vina also had a passion for stained glass, which she eventually turned into a business, and she loved gardening and spending time with her family and her beloved dogs.
In 1966, Vina married her first husband, Harry Thompson, who passed away in 1985; and the following year, she married her second husband, Warren Schott, to whom she was married for 30 years. In addition to her husband, Vina was survived by her daughter and two sons, two daughters-in-law (Sherri and Nicole), five grandchildren (Elizabeth, Ryne, Jessica, Kylan, and Christopher); a great-grandson (Leeam); eight of her nine siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her first husband, she was predeceased by her elder brother Ron and his wife Joyce, as well as her father-in-law, Earl Thompson, and her mothers-in-law, Lena Thompson and Dorthea Schott.
An 11 o'clock memorial service for Vina was held at Saint Thomas Church in Thomaston, Connecticut, on Saturday morning, December 3, followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery and a celebration of her life at the American Legion in Thomaston.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that memorial donations be made to their GoFundMe webpage to assist with Vina's funeral expenses.
