Barbara Lavar (Berridge) Bayless England age 88 of Edmond, OK was welcomed to heaven on November 29, 2016 in Guthrie, OK.

Barbara was born in McAllen, Texas on October 9, 1928 to Soloman & Lilah Berridge. She received her Associates Degree from Graceland University, Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Missouri State University and her Specialist in Education from Drury College.

Among many other things, Barbara was a teacher at Mark Twain Elementary and taught Remedial Reading at Reed Jr. High in Springfield, MO; Principal of Strafford Elementary in Missouri; Principal of Westwood Elementary in Stillwater, OK; Literacy Consultant with the OK Press Association; Director of the Reading Clinic and adjunct professor at UCO in Edmond, OK. She was also a Cub Scout Leader and sang in the Sweet Adeline’s in Springfield, MO; Director at Camp Wakonda in Racine, MO; Board Member of Project READ and member of the Land Run RV Club in Edmond, OK. She was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ, serving in numerous capacities, Barbara was a gifted musician and artist, always learning new ways to use her creativity. Above all she was loving and generous, full of life and laughter.

Barbara was preceded in death by her son, William Michael Bayless; former husband Bill Bayless; husband Lloyd England; fiancΓ© Ben Simmons; and great-grandchild Elia Gaumer.

She is survived by her children, Barbara K. & Dana Webster, Bailey, CO; Robert β€œBob” & Shari Bayless, Springfield, MO and Becky & Mike Wellington, Edmond, OK. Grandchildren: Katie (Webster) & Ted Paskvan, Aaron E. & Michelle Webster, Autumn & Tyler Jones, Kinsey & Tyler Horringa, Michael, Matthew and Ashley Bayless, Logan & Paul Waggoner, Mark & Katie Bayless, Branden and Stacy Bayless, Chenille and Greg Gaumer. Great Grandchildren: Lily Webster, Thomas & Tristan Paskvan, Nathaniel, Ava and Will Bayless, Ethan, Gabriela, Malachi, & Olivia Gaumer, Liam and Collin Waggoner, Gage and Bexley Bayless, and Summer Jones.
