Obituary:
Anna Caroline Gordon passed away in Riverside, California on November 22, 2006 at the age of 92. Anna was born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 19, 1914 to parents Sarah and Rubin Kushner who had emigrated from Russia during the 1890s. On July 5th, 1936 she married Samuel Gordon of Boston. Their only child, a daughter Marolyn, was born on July 10th, 1937. Anna was a homemaker for most of her adult life, although as a young woman she did factory work in the electronics industry in Boston. In 1980 Anna and Sam purchased a mobile home and moved to Santee, California in order to be closer to their daughter Marolyn and their daughters family in Riverside, California. Samuel died in 1989, and in 2003 Anna sold their mobile home and moved into Marolyn's home in Riverside. Anna is survived by her daughter Marolyn Oddson, her son-in-law Keith Oddson, their children Kathy Oddson of Riverside and Karen Oddson-Astorga and her husband Roger Astorga of Denver, Colorado. Other surviving relatives are sister Rosalie Rotman of Lantana, Florida, sister Libby Herson of Framingham, Massachusetts, sister Cicely Nathan and husband Bill Nathan of Framingham, brother David Kushner of Rancho Bernardo, California, and numerous nephews and nieces. She was pre-deceased by a grandson, Kenneth Oddson of Riverside, and a brother Richard Kushner of New York City, New York. Anna loved to knit and, although her eye-sight was failing, she created many lovely shawls, bed spreads and other items. While in Santee she was a member of the Braille Institute in San Diego, California. Anna will be interred with her husband Samuel at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California. Services will be conducted at Riverside National Cemetery, Assembly Area #5 on Wednesday, November 29th by Rabbi Yitzhak Miller of the Riverside Temple Beth El synagogue. Anna will be remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
