Alton H. Largent, age 87, of Lindsay Ok, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2002. He was born on October 1, 1914 in Cox City, OK to Francis (Bud) M. Largent and Beulah (Robinson) Largent. Alton worked in the oil field for many years and he loved to fish, he loved mowing, gardening and hunting. Alton was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Lindsay for 52 years.
Alton is survived by his wife Della May (Powell) Largent of Lindsay, they were married on June 20, 1936 in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Through this union they had four daughters Dortha L. Stewart of Lindsay; Susie C. Brown and husband Roy of Lindsay; Beverly E. MaGee and husband Rod of Yoder, Colorado; and Rita Gail Dobson and husband James of Tulsa, OK. He is survived by one brother, H.G. (Monk) Largent and one sister, Jessie Canada; by nine Grandchildren; Evon Donaho, Alton Brown, John Brown, Charlotte Pigg, Correna Allen, Jessie Dobson, Samuel Dobson, Rachel Mathis and Cindy Owens; 25 Great grandchildren; Scotty Donaho, Kim Donaho, Justin Brown, Kristi Brown, Shaunna Johnson Pigg, Ben Johnson Pigg, Ely Pigg, Kassi and Callie Pigg, Jamie Davoult, Sean Davoult, Timothy and Joshua Logan and Zachariah Dobson, Christian & Devin Dobson, Summer, Autumn & Winter Mathis, Levis & Travis Owens, Cody Magee, Selby & Branhan and Bradyn & Cory Allen. Alton is preceded in death by both parents, brother Bert Largent and sister Helen Hunt.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at 2:00 p.m., at the Assembly of God Church in Lindsay with Rev. David Reddick and Rev. J.C. Venable officiating. Alton will be laid to rest at Erin Springs Cemetery in Erin Springs. Pallbearers will be Alton Brown, John Brown, Jessie Dobson, Samuel Dobson, Scotty Donaho, Justin Brown and Sean Davoult. Honorary pallbearers will be David Donaho, Terry Pigg, Doyle Davis, Joseph Magee, Toby Mathis and Tim Allen.
