A funeral service for Mr. Scott Mitchell Austin, 45, formerly of Jacksonville, will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jacksonville with P.D. Pritchett and Shannon Parris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Austin passed away on November 28, 2016 in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Mr. Austin was a graduate of Pleasant Valley High School and had attended Jacksonville State University. He worked as a homebuilder for over 20 years in Calhoun County. He loved his dog Pearl, the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and a loyal Bama fan. For the past 10 years, he worked and traveled with Union Pipelines as a heavy equipment operator. During his travels, he met his beloved wife and became a father to three precious babies. He loved spending time with his kids and taking his girls fishing. He was so proud to have his kids with him wherever he went. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend. He was kind and caring to all that he met. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Austin is survived by his wife and best friend, Kristen Schultz Austin, of Honesdale, Pa.; his children, Miranda Kathleen Austin, Maycee Kay Austin and Wyatt Scott Austin, all of Honesdale, Pa.; his mother, Teresa Angel Simmons, and her husband, Jeff, of Ohatchee; his father, Rodney Austin, of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Ray Austin and his wife, Teresa K., of Jacksonville; his grandmother, Kathryn Putman, of Jacksonville; a niece and nephew, Kaylee and Tyler Austin; several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.
