Dearrel B. 'Jerry" Miller, loving father, grandfather and friend to many, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital of OKC, OK. Jerry was born November 10th, 1918 in Royalton, MN. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Hazel M. Miller and his son Bernard 'Barney" Miller. He is survived by his son Doug and daughter-in-law Gayla Miller of Cypress, TX; his granddaughter Doni 'Baby 1 & Baby 2" and grandson-in-law Adam Albright of OKC, OK; and his sister Bernice and brother-in-law Ken Cheely of Keizer, OR. He was an active and faithful member of the Lutheran Church. He was most proud of his career in the military serving his country in WWII in the South Pacific, and of retiring after 23 years in the army as a Lt. Colonel. After his military career he worked for the State of Oklahoma Dept of Civil Defense reaching the position of Director before retiring. He then worked for the City of Oklahoma City as Director of the Alcohol Safety Action Project. A graduate of the University of San Francisco he also attended the University of Nebraska. His generosity and loving nature will be sorely missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, Oklahoma City Chapter. Services will be Monday, January 8, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the Mercer-Adams Chapel with internment at Resurrection Cemetery. MERCER-ADAMS
