Richard Gene Yates passed away on November 30th, 2016 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was born on September 17th, 1944 in Madera, California to Roy Lee Yates and Myrtle Mary (Stewart) Yates. He graduated from Madera High School. Richard enjoyed building trailers and going to auctions. More than anything, Richard was a caretaker to all. He served others by helping them to meet their needs and keep their independence as long as possible. He was a member of Dixie Land Baptist Church in Madera, California.

Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers Bill Yates, Waymon Yates, Harold Yates, Chester Yates and sister Lillie Collard.

Survivors include his brother Roy Yates and wife Joyce of Holdenville, niece Renee Snider and husband Gary of Wyoming, nephew Mark Yates of Holdenville, cousins Sharon Yates and Karen Smith of Holdenville, friends Jackie and Margaret Siegriest of Holdenville and Jim Thetford of Holdenville, and members of the Buck Family and Siegriest Family as well as several other family and friends.

A private service will take place at a later date. Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
