Jeffrey D. McSorley, 50, of Carson, passed away Nov. 22, 2005, in Council Bluffs. He was born Feb. 18, 1955, in Council Bluffs, to Duane and Mary J. McKeown McSorley. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School, Iowa Western, and received a Masters degree from Leslie University. He was a Professor of Computer Science at Bellevue University for the past 1 1/2 years and Iowa Western Community College for 17 years prior.
Member of Oakland Flying Eagles.
Mr. McSorley and his wife, Sherrie (Darnold), McSorley, were married 29 years. He was preceded in death by his father Duane McSorley. Survivors in addition to his wife include daughter, Meghan, of Carson; son, Michael, and fiancé, Laura, of Omaha, Neb.; mother, Mary J. McSorley; grandmother, Helen McKeown; sister, Sheryl McSorley; brother, Kirk and wife, Susan, and their three children, all of Council Bluffs, brother-in-laws, Randy Darnold and wife, Jill and their three children, of Underwood, Jeremy Darnold and wife, Nicole, of Omaha, Neb.; mother-in-law, Naomi Darnold, of Underwood; nephews; nieces; four great nieces and nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins.
Visitation with the family will be Friday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Cutler-ONeill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, Rev. Aaron Simons Pastor Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating. Cremation to follow services.
