Cowell, Albert Wayne "Paw Paw" "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life; he does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." John 5:24. A loving husband, father and Paw-Paw, he was called home at 5:40 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at Gulf States LTAC of Denham Springs.

He was 73, born in Sawyer, N.D., and was a longtime resident of Denham Springs. He lived his life serving God and his family. As a young man, he was in the U.S. Air Force serving in the Korean War. He worked his adult life in the Car Care Center with Godchaux's, Maison Blanche, from which he retired at the age of 66 to finally spend an extraordinary amount of time with his wife and grandchildren.

Visiting at Woodlawn Baptist Church, Baton Rouge, on Wednesday, Jan. 10, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. James Cowell, the Rev. Trey Cowell and Dr. Tommy Middleton. Burial in the church cemetery. Wayne is survived by his wife of 52 years, Aline "Bootsie" Kennedy Cowell; daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl and Al Shaffett; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Kim Cowell, the Rev. James and Danna Cowell, and Gary and Stephanie Cowell; two brothers; and 13 grandchildren, Ryan, Trey, Brooke, Carmen, Neal, Daniel, Brett, Cara, Stephanie, Heather, Brandon, Ashley and Faith. Wayne follows in death his parents, Frank W. and Grace Cornish Cowell, and two brothers. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Gulf States LTAC.
