Franklin T. Stone, Sr., “Ted”, 79, residing in Mishawaka, passed away at 12:20 pm Friday, December 9, 2016 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. He was born March 7, 1937 in (Mishawaka, IN) to the late Raymond O. and Ruby “Pauline” (Alexander) Stone.
Ted served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He worked as a carpenter and sheet metal fabricator until retiring in 2002 from Slatile Roofing.
On April 26, 1958 in (Osceola), Ted married the former Sherrilyn E. True, who survives. In addition to his loving wife of 58 years, he is survived by four sons, Franklin “Ted” Stone, Jr. of Mishawaka, Gary “Eugene” Stone of Niles, MI, Rex A. (Jennifer) Stone of South Bend and William T. (Kathy) Stone of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Levi, Dani and Tori Storms, Kirstie Schlatter, Anthony and Jeremy Hunsberger, Patrick Griffis, Sean, Kayla, Bridgette, Dillon, Austin, Kaedyn, Karly, Jessica, Dustin, Krystal, Curtis Jr. and Destiny Stone, Ashley Oswalt, Zach Butler, Taylor Losee, and Timothy, Kyle and Jack McCreery; Amy Anderson, Aubrey and Sidney Thompson and Jayden Garza; and thirty nine great grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by sisters, Vera Andrews of Mishawaka and Ruthanne Murphy of Rochester, NY; and one brother, Ken Stone of Mishawaka. Ted was preceded in death by his daughter, Roxanne E. Hunsberger; one son, Curtis Ray Stone, Sr.; one grandson, Devin Stone; one sister, Thelma “Maxine” Rynearson; and one brother, Joseph C. Stone.
Funeral services for Ted will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in the Calvary Chapel, 53494 Fir Road, Granger, IN. Rev. Bob Moore will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, December 13, 2016 also in Calvary Chapel. Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
