Beatrice Marie Austin, 86, of Grant, passed away on November 16, 2016 at home. She was born on July 5, 1930 to George and Effie (Palmer) Rager in Comstock, Michigan. She was a homemaker and was last employed by Grant Public Schools. She was a member of the VFW Post #7571 Auxiliary in Hopkins, Michigan. On April 4, 1948 she married Aaron Austin in Kalamazoo, Michigan and he preceded her in death. Beatrice is survived by her five sons: Henry (Joan) Austin of Olivet, Thomas Austin of Newaygo, Carl (Lisa) Austin of West Olive, John Austin of Sparta, Danny Austin of Grant; seven daughters: Beverly (Larry) Hendrixson of Utah, Alice (Jim) Oglesbee of Allegan, Sally (Bert) Blain of Hopkins, Annabelle (Tim) Wicks of Hopkins, Michigan, Peggy (Bob) Morris of Hopkins, Robin (Doug) Creighton of Alabama, Esther (Mike) VanLoon of Bailey, Michigan; many grandchildren great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and sister Dorothy Sousa of Rhode Island.
