On Thursday, Dec. 5th, 2013, our beloved George “Mike” Bailey of Holly Hills died of injuries received in a farm accident. He was 60 years of age.
One of four children, “Mike” as he was affectionately known was born George Michael Bailey on July 12, 1953. His parents were the late Carl and Louise King Bailey. Mike is the fond brother of Mary, Anita and Kenny.
Mike was a retired coal miner. He enjoyed walking in the woods with his beagles and loved his rescued dogs. He also enjoyed horses and rabbit hunting. Mike Bailey was loved by all who knew him. His memory will be forever cherished.
In 1985, he married Cheryl Daniel, daughter of the late Cody and Dolores Daniel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Cheryl’s son, Jonathan Cody. Wayne Tolliver, Mike’s best friend from childhood survives as well.
On Tuesday, December 10th, at 1:00 pm we will remember the life of Mike Bailey with a “Service of Remembrance” at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Paul Zutaut will be officiating. Mike will be laid to rest in the Edward Daniel Cemetery at Saxton. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the service hour. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
