Army Sgt. Wosika was assigned to the 2nd Combined Arms Battalion, 136th Infantry, Crookston, Minnesota. Wosika was killed by a homemade bomb while on foot patrol near the town of Fallujah. James was a 2000 graduate of Highland Park Senior High School in St. Paul, Minnesota. While at school he was a champion wrestler and a football player. He came from a long line of military people so he chose to join the National Guard right out of high school to honor them. James had served in Kosovo for six months in 2004 on a peacekeeping mission and deployed to Iraq last March. He was due home in March or April. He loved military history, 4-wheeling, hunting, football, baseball and softball. James accessed his Myspace page the night before he died. He wrote that his heroes were any man or woman that has died for this country and all that may lose their life. His goal: Just make it home. His biggest fear: Not coming home.
