Carolee Joyce Hughes Baker, 81, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Monday, October 24, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Deacon Greg Palmer officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
Joyce was born on February 4, 1935 to Charles and Ola Mae Adams in Red Springs, Texas. Joyce married Harrison Baker on September 15, 1987 in Amarillo. She worked in home health care in Amarillo. She was a marvelous lady who loved going fishing and working in her vegetable garden. Joyce also loved animals and was a great cook known for her potato salad and Thanksgiving dressing. Joyce loved helping everybody and she would give everything she could to help people, but most of all, Joyce loved spending time with her family and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brent Hughes and a brother, Charles Adams.
She is survived by her husband, Harrison; two sons, Billy Charles Hughes and Bruce Hughes and wife Sherry; two brothers, Jimmy W. Adams and wife Joanne and David Adams; three sisters, Princetta Kay Adams, Judy Clement and husband Boyd and Linda Colvin; two step sons, Darrell Baker and wife Bobbi and David Baker and wife Janet; two step daughters, Stacy Paul and husband Bill and Gayle Packard and husband Greg; thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
