He worked for Texas Oil Works in Marcus Hook, PA before joining his brother as Vice President in the Charles T. Holcroft Company in Detroit.
He was engaged to Anita McKinney of Chester, PA. He died of pneumonia before they could be married. She never married and was considered part of the family for the rest of her life.
