Arthur was the son of Joseph Fissette and Mary Merrill.

On Oct 14, 1909 in Stewartstown, NH he married Grace Myrtle Brainard, daughter of Charles Brainard and Emmagene Blodgett.

Their children were Vivian, Dorothy, Frank, twins Burton & Beatrice Ruth, Geraldine, Denzil, and Wilfred C.

In 1930 they also had grandson, Lawrence Fissette, age 4, son of daughter Dorothy (father not named); and granddaughter, Beverly Jean Fissette, age 2, daughter of Dorothy and Carroll Washburn (they didn't marry).

They divorced some time after that 1930 census. In 1940 he was a lodger in the home of Bertha Ellingwood, but had a son with her in 1938.

After the 1940 census he married Bertha May Ellingwood, daughter of Wesley Thomas Ellingwood and Mary Major.

They had a son, Oliver Edmond, in Nov 1938.
