Miss Mabel Butler was united in marriage to the love of her life Mr. Oscar Harold Curtis on November 7, 1945 and to this union three children were born. Oscar preceded her in death on October 27, 2009.
She was very interested in family history, and loved to listen to her children and grandchildren make music. She was a faithful member of the Second Baptist Church.
Mabel Loren Curtis is survived by her daughters, Gwendolyn Wakefield and husband Larry of Salem, Missouri, Karen Jeffs and husband Kenneth of Chesterfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Angela Boerckel and husband Clint, Deanna Blanchard and husband Scott, Kimberly Roback and husband Darren; great-grandchildren, Andrew Bannister and wife Karizma, Bradley Flynn, Patrick Flynn, Taylor Wakefield and special friend Robbie Ruble, Olivia Roback; great-great grandson, Colton Ruble; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Harold she was preceded in death by her sisters, Violet Garrett and Velma Baker; brother, Austin Butler; infant daughter, Sandra Lorene Curtis; grandson, Jason Wakefield.
Funeral services for Mabel Lorene Curtis will be held 11:00AM Thursday, December 15, 2015 at the Second Baptist Church in Salem, Missouri with Rev. Lewis Curtis officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 5:00PM - 8:00PM at the Salem Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary.
Interment will be held in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Salem, Missouri.
