Anthony Francis Carbone Jr., age 60, of Wilmington, DE passed away to be with the Lord on December 11, 2016. Anthony was born in Wilmington to Rose and Anthony Carbone Sr. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Anthony enjoyed fishing and four wheeling at the beach and camping at Cape Henlopen State Park. He played the bass guitar and was an avid Red Sox and Eagles fan. Anthony was a great cook, enjoyed vegetable gardening, and liked watching old movies. He was a member of Local #25 International Operating Engineers.
Anthony is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sherri D. Carbone; his father, Anthony Carbone Sr.; his daughters, Martha and Ellen Shaw; his grandchildren: Christopher (Allison), Autumn, Justus, Hannah, R.J., Jayden, Madison, and Kaylee. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Carbone and his daughter, Rochelle Aument.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on December 22 from 10:30 AM – noon at the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702. A service in celebration of Anthony’s life will follow at noon. Burial will take place at 2 PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701. “Our father had a loving and compassionate soul. Despite his battle with alcoholism, his heart touched everyone. His days of suffering are no longer as he is now with the Lord. If you know someone suffering from the disease of addiction, please reach out and let them know they are loved.” In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Veterans Hospital, 1601 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19805
