Kayla Leigh Canedo, age 20 of Alpharetta and a sophomore at the University of Georgia died tragically as the result of a car accident on April 27, 2016. She was an active member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. Kayla was the Vice President of chapter relations and standards chair on the executive board. Kayla loved helping others and was very involved with the YMCA, where she worked as a counselor at Camp High Harbour at Lake Allatoona. Kayla was a beautiful kind soul who inspired love and happiness to all who came into contact with her. She is survived by her parents, Tom and Yvette; older brother, Thomas Canedo; sisters, Emma and Kelly Canedo all of Alpharetta; paternal grandfather, Alfred Canedo of Timonium, Maryland; maternal grandmother, Josetta Yanik of Alpharetta along with many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kayla died with three of her friends, fellow University of Georgia students: Christina Devon Semeria, Brittany Katherine Feldman, and Halle Grace Scott.
