Claude Lawrence Andrews Jr. (79) of Pepin, WI died Friday, December 16, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was born January 14, 1937 in Alma, WI; son of Claude Sr. & Lorraine (Ristow) Andrews.

He attended school in Pepin, then Maiden Rock, where he graduated in 1955. Following graduation he joined the United States Army and served in the Army Airborne. On June 9, 1956 he married Donna Kidd at the United Methodist Church in Pepin. Donna joined Claude at Fort Bragg, NC where he finished his military service. In 1958 they returned to Pepin.

Buster hauled can and bulk milk from 1960-1980. He then started driving grain truck for the Durand Co-op until his retirement in 2000. Following his retirement he ran errands for Mackintosh Motors, Northern WI Manufacturing and took care of the car wash in Pepin. Buster was a longtime member of the Pepin Lion’s Club. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, going to the casino and spending time with family and friends.


He is survived by his wife, Donna Andrews of Pepin, WI; daughter, Terri (Gary) Hoyt of Durand, WI; five grandchildren, Jason VanZanten of Eau Claire, WI, Jessica (Matt) Maurer of Farmington, MN, Jennifer (Ryan) Lietzau of Hokah, MN, Jeremy Hoyt of CO, Gina Hoyt of Plum City, WI; three great-grandchildren, Brody Bechel, Madison Maurer, Avery Donna Lietzau and a great-granddaughter due in January; sister, Sherry (Marshall) Holt of Bay City, WI; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Peggy Van Zanten; infant brother, Jerry.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at United Methodist Church in Pepin with Pastor Lisa Weaver officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Military honors by Durand American Legion Post #181 to follow. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand, WI is assisting the family.
