NEW LONDON: Sharon Kay Colby went to be with Jesus December, 17, 2016 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, surrounded by her family. She was 71.

Born October 22, 1945 to parents John & Betty (Varner) Elliott in Coldwater, Michigan, Sharon was raised in Angola, Indiana graduating from Angola High School. She has lived in several states, Oklahoma, Michigan, Georgia, Indiana, and most recently Ohio.

Sharon most recently attended First Baptist Church in New London and was a member of the Gold Wings Club.

Sharon was self-employed and worked many different jobs over the years including; Home sales, Tastefully Simple, Tupperware, Avon and Kmart.

In her spare time, she took pleasure in photography and traveling. With the exception of Hawaii, she had visited 49 of the 50 states on the back of a motorcycle. She lived in Germany for 7 years, traveling to many of the European countries while there. In younger years she enjoyed cake decorating, making wedding and birthday cakes for her children as well as others.
Sharon also avidly researched her family tree and was a very active find a grave contributor.

Sharon is survived by the father of her daughters, Pete Robitaille; daughters Stacey (Marvin) Morgan of Lansing, MI, Penny Dinkins of Hahira, GA and Angie (Fred) Toms of Ray City, GA; son Brian (Melissa) Stallings of Rome, GA; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; her brother John Elliott and niece Christina Elliott of Mansfield.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by the father of her son Roy Stallings and her sister-in-law Betty Elliott.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. in Cornerstone Grace Brethren Church, 1905 N Lexington Springmill Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44906, where a funeral service honoring Sharon's life will begin immediately at 11 a.m. Pastor Les Vansdale will officiate and burial will follow in Ashland County Memorial Park. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is handling funeral arrangements.
