Clement J. "Clem" Gehrke, age 89, of Two Rivers passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Northridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.Clem was born May 4, 1927 in Two Rivers, son of the late Clement, Sr. and Evelyn (Kotarek) Gehrke. He graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1946. On October 7, 1950 he was united in marriage to the former Carol Ruelle at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2016.Clem started working at Eggers Plywood at the age of 16 (part-time) and then full-time after graduation. He continued working there until his retirement. He enjoyed pigeon racing, golfing, fishing, bowling and hunting. He was a member of the Two Rivers Racing Pigeon Club. Clem also cherished his role as a great grandfather.Survivors include his daughter Sandra Fonda, Manitowoc; two granddaughters: Jennifer (Christopher) Cole, Burnt Hills, NY; Maribeth Fonda, Brattleboro, VT; one great granddaughter: Kelsea Cole; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Clem was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol Gehrke, two infants Lynn Marie & John, son-in-law Bruce Fonda, sister and brother-in-law Sylvia & Victor Taddy, brother and sister-in-law Frank & Nancy Gehrke, and one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Lawrence & Eleanore Ruelle.The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. The visitation will continue on Wednesday, December 21, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Kim Henning with burial to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers following services.
