Harvey Leslie Bowman, 70, died November 11, 1987 at his home in Laurel Fork, Virginia. He was a native of Carroll County and was a son of the late Columbus and Dora lee Bowman.

Surviving are his wife, Goldie Bowman; five daughters, Mrs. Tommy (Brenda) Goins of Pilot Mountain, NC, Mrs. Barry (Eloise) Burnette of Fancy Gap, Mrs. Carl (Delores) Clontz; Mrs. Bill (Addie) Alderman both of Hillsville, Mrs. Dennis (Jane) Dalton, Laurel Fork; four sons, Danny, Wayne, Kenneth and Dewey Bowman all of Laurel Fork; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Foy (Mary Alice) Allen of Danville and Mrs. Billy (Mamie) Hazelwood, Princeton, WV; two brothers, Lee Bowman of Laurel Fork and Wise Bowman of Danville,

Funeral services were held November 13, 2 p.m. in Rome Missionary Baptist Church with ministers John D. Bowman and the Rev. Dwight Sechrist. Burial was in the church cemetery.
