Her obituary from the Cortland Standard, Friday, May 20, 1904:

Mrs. Anna Lavinia Parker Caiger, only sister of E. D. Parker of Cortland and of Charles Parker of Cincinnatus, died at the home of N. S. Barker in Nunda, N.Y., on Tuesday, April 26. Her funeral was held at the home of her brother in Cortland on Friday, April 29, and the burial followed at Mt. Roderick. In early girlhood the deceased came with her mother, Mrs. Sally Boyd Parker Phelps, from Charlton, Saratoga Co., to "The Elms" in the town of Taylor, Cortland Co., now Mount Roderick, which place was her home for many years. She was a teacher for a number of years and later was engaged in the millinery business in Truxton. She was married to Francis F. Caiger in 1872 and he died in 1894. She was for years a devoted and active member of the Presbyterian church in Nunda and leaves many friends there who deeply feel her loss. From 1881 to 1899 her home was in Edgar, Neb., and the Edgar Post says of her:

'Mrs Caiger was a genuine noble woman, and no one who had lived in Edgar had more warm and faithful friends than she and she returned their affection in fullest measure. She had formed so many strong attachments here that her removal to New York caused both her and her many friend's the keenest regret, and now that she has been permanently removed from us a wave of genuine sorrow has swept over all of us who knew her best. A woman of education, of broad culture, of quick sympathy, endowed with a helpful, uplifting spirit, hers was a character to be loved and sought after.'
