Claude George Pennington, 84, of Greenville, died Saturday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Park Street Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Weems and Rev. Johnny Hailes officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.

Born in Bonham on April 5, 1918, he was the son of T.D. Pennington and Martha Jane Hughes. He married Pauline 'Pat' Alexander in Lone Oak on June 15, 1940. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was an auto and truck mechanic. He was a member of Park Street Baptist Church and the IOOF Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Pennington of Greenville; son and daughter-in-law Dr. Jack L. and Julia Pennington of St. Louis, Mo.; son and daughter-in-law Randy G. and Mary Pennington of Addison; brother, Jimmy D. Pennington of Mansfield; sister Carlee Cope of California; sister Myrtle Morgan of Jacksonville; grandsons Bryan Pennington and Elliot Pennington, both of St. Louis, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Memmorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
