Young Thomas Abernathy, Jr., known as Y.T., died August 2. He was a World War II Marine Veteran, President/CEO of the Georgia Eye Bank and a member of the Second Ponce De Leon Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Stella Breed Abernathy, Canton; sons: Y.T. Abernathy, III of Lawrenceville, Michael and Patti Abernathy of Lilburn; grandchildren: Lydia Abernathy Mondavi (Rob) of Napa, CA, Michael Patrick Abernathy of Napa, CA and Richard Abernathy of Albany, GA; brother, Joe Abernathy (Ruth) of Albany, GA; brother-in-law, William Broome of Dahlonega, GA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held today from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home in Canton, GA, at 3:00 P.M. with Dr. C. Robert Marsh officiating. Interment, Georgia National Cemetery.
