This was the Eulogy by Jen Thorn (2nd from left, Megan is the tall brunette)

I think the purpose of an internship is for a student to learn something and be mentored. Megan came to MOXIE as an intern and more specifically as my intern. I knew from the moment I met her that I was going to dig this girl. But what I had no idea was coming was how very much I would grow to love her and to rely on her. I was certainly not prepared for how much more she would teach me than I taught her. For how she would make me feel brave. I didn’t ever get to tell her that. Not as clearly as I would have liked to have said it. But I will tell you.
Things I learned from Megan:
-Treat Every. Single. Person. with dignity and kindness.
-Never sell yourself short. If you have something of value to offer, you deserve to get paid for that.
-When someone says something ignorant. Question them.
-NEVER shy away from using the word “vagina.”
-Listen to people. Really listen instead of waiting to talk.
-Encourage the people around you to go for it. They may really need to hear that.
-If you want to shave half your head but your husband isn’t sure…wait why does it matter what your husband thinks…shave your head…it’ll be so hot. He’ll love it.
-Have faith that you can learn how to do whatever you need to do to achieve your ultimate goal.
-Wear less makeup and don’t bother with your hair so much. You look so good just the way you roll out of bed.
-Feel like putting on some makeup and wearing something hot? Good for you. You look so good that way too.
-Never be too busy that you can’t walk for a cup of coffee with your friend.
-Be reliable. It makes you irreplaceable. and lastly
-Enter into each new experience ready to learn instead of teach, even if you’re meant to be the teacher. The world is full of teachers, even if they’re disguised as interns.
