The Kane Republican from Kane, Pennsylvania · Page 7
Vincent Aaron, 45, married and father of four children, was killed instantly late Sunday. With fellow workmen on the Morgan Coal company's stripping operation one mile east of Corsica, just over the Jefferson county line from Clarion, Aaron was adjusting a power shovel in readiness for Monday's work. A bolt became loose and fell from the boom. This was noticed by the operator, who left his cab to recover it. Meanwhile, Aaron is thought to have run under the descending bucket in an effort to reach the bolt. The shovel bucket struck Aaron, crushing his chest. A Physician who was called stated that Aaron probably died almost instantly. Aaron was well known as a taxidermist.
