A VETERAN'S DEATH. Brother of Mrs, Tyler, Formerly of Healdsburg.
A letter received from Mrs. Rebecca 'Tyler, for many years a resident of Healdsburg, but now living at Rio Del, Humboldt county, encloses a clipping telling of the death of her brother, George W. Pate, which occurred there on July 22d. The deceased was a veteran of the Civil War, participating in the battles of Chicamauga, Lookout Mountain and other engagements, and was with Sherman in his memorable march to the sea. He spent one winter in Healdsburg about eighteen years ago.
