Born Oct. 4, 1920, in Hanover, he was the son of the late William H. and Ida (Winters) Eichelberger.
After retiring from Hoffman Pattern Works, he worked part time at Hanover Red Cross. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy, and was a member of Hanover Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 227, American Legion Post 14, VFW of Littlestown, Hanover Lodge BPO Elks 763, and the Social Club of New Oxford.
Surviving also are two daughters, Judy Smith of New Oxford and Faye Palfrey of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one sister, Betty Brown of Felton; one stepsister, Emma Baughman of Jupiter, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Ralph, Claude, Earl, George and Martin Eichelberger.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut St., Hanover, with the Rev. Robert N. Maddox officiating, and with the Elks Color Guard standing at the door as greeters. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery with full military rites performed by the Littlestown VFW. Visitation will be at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
The Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, is in charge of the arrangements.
