McDowell Rites Slated Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Whitna McDowell, 66, of 103 E. Cleveland Park Drive, who died Wednesday at a local hospital, will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the J.F. Floyd Mortuary.
The Rev. Norman Shands and the Rev. W.W. Fridy will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be: Floyd, James and W.C. Daniel Jr., Forrest H. Cantrell, Evans McDowell and W.O. Ezell.
Mrs. McDowell was the widow of Thomas Redard McDowell. A native of Landrum, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Rebecca Hill Daniel.
Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. L.J. Davis of Spartanburg; 2 sons, H. Edward McDowell and Thomas B. McDowell, both of Spartanburg; and 3 brothers, Noah H. Daniel, Walter C. Daniel and Joe H. Daniel, all of Landrum.
A sister, Ida D. Cantrell, died Monday, Nov. 17.
