Jean (Shaffer) Henry 87 of Bloomington, IL passed away 7:47 AM January 13, 2016 at McLean County Nursing Home, Normal, IL.

Graveside services will be at a later date at Rock Creek Cemetery, Waynesville, IL. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL assisted the family with cremation rites.

Memorials may be directed to the West Twin Grove Christian Church, 14237 Twin Grove Road, Bloomington, IL 61705.

Jean was born November 2, 1928 in Waynesville, IL the daughter of James C. and Bessie A. (Moxley) Shaffer. She married Vernon Henry January 10, 1986 in Bloomington, IL. He passed away in 1999.

Survivors include her children, Kay (Bob) Wahoff, NC, Richard (Bonnie) Spencer, Bloomington, IL, Michael (Barb) Spencer, MO, Christina (Bob) Knoles, CO, Karen (Bob) Pogue, NC, 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, brothers, Gary (Judy) Shaffer, Springfield, IL, David (Sandi) Shaffer, Waynesville, IL, and Ron (Cheryl) Shaffer, Peoria, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters: Hazel VanHook, Bessie Lovell, Gail Blakney, Nancy Carrol, and Alma Shaffer, 5 brothers: James, Raymond, Charles, Wake and Jerome “Pooch” Shaffer.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the McLean County Nursing Home.

Jean (Shaffer) Henry will be greatly missed by many, especially the loves of her life, Ryan and Spencer.
