MISHAWAKA - Vivian L. DeVliegher, 93, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at the Sanctuary at Holy Cross in South Bend.

Vivian was born on February 15, 1923, in Winamac, IN, as the daughter of Walter and Elsie (Dorsey) Borders. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Errol and Leonard Borders.

On January 18, 1947, as the former Vivian Borders, she married Alois DeVliegher; he preceded in death on March 29, 2013.

Surviving are her two daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Hurley of Mishawaka and Mary (Gary) McGowan of Whitestown, IN; three sons, Michael (Patricia) DeVliegher of Indianapolis, David (Fran) DeVliegher of South Bend and Stephen (Elizabeth) DeVliegher of Mishawaka; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Vivian was a lifelong area resident and a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 28, from 2 to 4 p.m., with funeral services at 4 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Rev. John Delaney will be officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
