HASKELL -- Donnie Solomon, 70, of Haskell, died Saturday, January 13, 2007 in Wichita Falls.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at East Side Baptist Church, in Haskell with Bro. Danny Manross officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery under the direction of Holden - McCauley Funeral Home of Haskell.

Donnie was born on February 6, 1936 in Cisco, Texas the son of the late Plez Ransom Solomon and Pearl Auvenshine Solomon. On March 22, 1957, he married Marie Bird, in Haskell. Donnie was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Monahans, where he also helped in the nursery. He enjoyed sports, and coached Little League Baseball for many years. He also was a member of the Ya Ya Coffe Club at the Double A Drive-In. He was most proud of his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Rose Coker and Opal Stricker, and a brother Berl Solomon.

He is survied by: his wife of almost 50 years, Marie Solomon of Haskell; daughters, Paula Fulfer and husband Cotton, of Graham, and Tammy Riley and husband Tommy, of Robert Lee; sons, Keith Solomon of Haskell, Clifford Solomon and wife Melinda, of Monahans, and Kendell Solomon and wife Judy, of Corpus Christi; brothers, Bunk Solomon of Lubbock, Gaylon Solomon of Little Elm, and Rex Solomon of Amarillo; sister, Nez Hill of Rule, Dean Bush of Bastrop, and Bonnie Bishop of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, J. Barnwell, Stephanie Solomon, Jerry Riley, Amy Hoover, and Jennifer Solomon; step grandchildren, Christopher Simonton, Chad Simonton, Amanda McGilvary, and Mandy Lambert; great grandchildren, Alex Riley, and Ally Riley; step great grandchildren, Cheyanne Simonton, Morgan Simonton, and Aaron Hoover; mother-in-law, Nellie Bird of Haskell; brothers-in-law, Wallace Bird and wife Margaret, of Haskell, Tommy Bird and wife Norma, of Haskell, and Sue Smith of Hope, AR; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
