Mrs. Ivey was born in Telfair County but had made her home in Bonaire and Milledgeville. She worked as a secretary for Dr. E.P. Gosline Chiropractic from the age of nineteen until she turned seventy. Mrs. Ivey was a member of Shalom Tabernacle of Warner Robins. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur Jackson Towns and Lucy Spires Towns, her husband Joseph Whitfield Ivey, her siblings, Annie Swilley, Vettie Billue, Bessie Proctor, Lucile Gibson, Pauline Garrison, Lorene Bailey, James Towns and Payton Towns, Sr. She spent most of her time taking care of her sisters and her family.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
