.
News was received in Gadsden this morning of the death of Barney Burgess in Chattanooga, a former Gadsden man who was well known, having lived here all his life until a year ago when he removed to Chattanooga, where he has been employed in a pipe shop.
Some time ago Mr. Burgess lost an arm in an accident and later a second operation was found necessary. He never recovered from the second operation, growing gradually worse until the end came.
Mr. Burgess is survived by his wife and two small children. The funeral will be held in Chattanooga on Sunday at 3 o'clock and a large number of Gadsden people will attend.
