He was born August 23, 1883 in Marion, Ky., on March 20, 1935 he was married to the former Miss Viola Smith in New Madrid, Mo.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Viola Akers of Hayti, two sons, Aubry Akers, Payett, Idaho and Wafford Akers, of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; one daughter, Thresa Cagle of Seattle, Wash., nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Lawrence Baker, Roy Smith, Lawrence Maroney, Troy Grissom, Burley Pattillo and George Babbs.
