Services for George Clayborn Akers of Hayti who died January 22, 1976 at Pemiscot Memorial Center in Hayti were held January 24, at the Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Bernel Wells of Hayti officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti.
He was born August 23, 1883 in Marion, Ky., on March 20, 1935 he was married to the former Miss Viola Smith in New Madrid, Mo.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Viola Akers of Hayti, two sons, Aubry Akers, Payett, Idaho and Wafford Akers, of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; one daughter, Thresa Cagle of Seattle, Wash., nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Lawrence Baker, Roy Smith, Lawrence Maroney, Troy Grissom, Burley Pattillo and George Babbs.
