Harold Dean Covington, formerly of Wilmington, NC 73 passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 7, 1942 in Wilmington, NC a son of the late James B. and Bonnie Mae Singletary Covington. He was predeceased by his brother, Johnny Covington.

Dean was a United States Army Veteran and retired from General Electric in Wilmington as a Human Resource Manager. He was a devoted family man and an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Covington of Myrtle Beach, SC; three daughters, Rebecca McSwain (Kevin) of Wilmington, NC, Tara Epley (Keith) of Rutherford, NC and Shannon Switzer of Myrtle Beach, SC; eight grandchildren, Haley, Zachary and Sarah all of Wilmington, NC, Andrew (Ashley) of Valdosta, GA, Cloie of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kayla (Josh) of Forest City, NC, Jayson (Magan) of Boling Springs, SC and Aaron of Forest City, NC, two great-granddaughters and a sister, Carol Weatherby.

The family will greet friends Monday, November 23, 2015 at Forestbrook Baptist Church from 12:25-1:45 PM.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday November 23, 2015 at Forestbrook Baptist Church.

Burial will be Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, SC at 1:00PM.

Memorials be made to Forestbrook Baptist Church, Caring and Sharing, 2051 Forestbrook Road, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588.
